Ten in the bed song

We have been Reading, 'Ten in the bed', this week.
The toy animals that fell out of bed made lots of interesting noises as they hit the floor...

CRASH!
BONK!
BUMP!
DINK!
OUCH!
THUD!
SLAM!
DONK!

Our Ilam School hangi

We visited the hangi site in the morning and asked Steve some questions:

"How do you get the food out of the hot fire pit"? - Hugh  (There is no fire when the food is taken out. Only the hot stones that have been cooking the food. Steve will wear gloves when he lifts the food cages out).

"How do you know when the food is cooked"? - Dylan
(Five hours is generally how long it takes for the steam to cook the food in the Earth oven).

We returned to the hangi after lunch to watch the fire being lit.

A visit from Miles Kau kau

Miles shared Maori stories and sang waiata with Room 12 today.
We found out that 'Aotearoa' is the Maori name for New Zealand and means 'The land of the long white cloud'.

We're looking forward to the hangi tomorrow.

It is Maori wonderment week.

Vowels = AEIOU  Y
               aeiou  y

Every word has a vowel.

If we took the vowels out of Aditya, he would be called dt.

On Wednesday Aditya got a Bey-blade. It has a string to make it spin fast.
